About ngNOG

The foremost capacity building activity of ICT personnel and other stakeholders in Nigerian Higher Education.
In twelve previous editions, the workshops have enabled learning from seasoned instructors and interaction between techie peers and management.
Together with international partners, ngNOG has helped bring global best practices to networking in Nigeria. In 2018, ngNOG will also be providing a platform for key players in telecommunications and infrastructure to build technical capacity and explore opportunities to deepen Nigeria’s Broadband Internet penetration and improve quality of service.

The Nigerian Network Operators' Group (ngNOG)

The Nigerian Network Operators Group was convened in 2006 as a forum for development of local technical capacity in the management of Internet-connected networks in Nigeria.
Originally an initiative of the academia with the cooperation of the private sector, ngNOG has grown to be Nigeria’s leading source of vendor-agnostic world-class training in IP network and services, management and ICT policy in Nigeria. In addition to hosting an online discussion forum for engagement between technical staff, management, the press, and other Internet stakeholders, ngNOG hosts regular technical trainings and conferences.

ngNOG Conference 2018

The 2018 ngNOG conference will provide a multi-stakeholder engagement platform where mobile network operators, Internet service providers, Infrastructure providers, Government regulators, End users and Security agencies will come together to analyze key issues and synthesize concrete outputs towards accelerating Internet development in Nigeria.

Issues to be discussed include the business impact of over-the-top services, deployment and protection of telecommunication infrastructure, localization of data and services, regulatory and taxation challenges, as well as a special workshop on peering and interconnection of networks.
